Once you learn the basics of the pranayama and the asanas, we can start the discipline of yoga. The practitioners who have undergone the beginners course, and are inspired to inculcate a regular discipline of yoga, come together on weekdays for a 75 minutes session.
In the 75 minutes, we necessarily practice the basic pranayama and the yogic postures (asana). As we stabilize ourselves in the basic postures over months of practice, we introduce variations to the basic postures, and slowly guide the practitioners to get themselves into intermediate and advanced postures. As practitioners become more regular, and can practice intermediate and advanced poses, we switch it up.
We regularly include new postures or series targeting certain areas of the body eg. flexibility, balance, hip opening, thighs and side flexibility,
Chandramaskar series,
108 suryanamaskar till the last man/woman standing drops to the mat.
On some other days we do a series of targeted postures and stretches aimed at certain parts of the body (eg. the back-bend series, hip-opening series, balancing series, endurance series, twists, bends, sides, etc.).
These variations / new postures are explained in detail and are demonstrated by me or an advanced practitioner, incorporating right techniques, so that everybody can try and eventually move through the series smoothly.
The 75 minutes practice sessions is a safe space for the practitioners, where some targeted asanas and breathing practices are undertaken to aid release of energy blockages that one might carry within the body.
This session is not just about yoga, it’s about bonding, sharing and having a spiritual community and space where one can safely express and let go of limiting thoughts and emotions.
Regular Asana Practice Class is availed as a monthly pass, with classes on Monday, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays of every week.
